Fans Look for Wonderful Play by Inexperienced Indian Side in Future Series Post Terrific Win in Test against England

axarNew Delhi, Thursday, December 22 – With terrific performance of the Indian Test team against England in recently concluded 5-match Test series, hopes have soared for the future contests as well. India were on cloud nine post ending the year being at top in the Test rankings.  It is a major achievement for the side that is full of inexperienced players, who have, in fact, got the ability to put forward impressive show when get a breakthrough, lending a hand to the team to shine at different time intervals.

Here is to mention that the only thing that mattered in the contest against a strong team like England is the self-belief. Anyone who lacks it would not be successful to do things to the best of his abilities. When spirit of the teammates is up then it is likely for a team to play as a perfect unit. And this worked for India. Virat Kohli has been guiding his men in a way that inspires them to have faith that nothing is unattainable when one has strong determination to achieve his goal.

As a matter of fact, the Men in Blue did all possible thing to stay on the winning side. They did not lose to England in the Test encounters that held recently. After the first game at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot ended in a draw, the victories at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam by humongous 246 runs, Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali by eight wickets, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai an innings and 36 runs and MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai by an innings and 75 runs show a clear picture that it was nothing else but great efforts of Indian cricket team that did not let England rebound at any stage. Enthusiasm level also went up among the players of the Indian team and the countrymen.

Even in the hardest situations, the Indian camp emerged as the rising stars, leaving no option for England players but to bear the brunt. Taking into account, the kind of performances shown recently, same efforts are anticipated to be given by them in the upcoming tournaments. Being at top is a difficult task but retaining that spot for as long as possible is the hardest part. When players know there is no chance to lose a game, the point on which attention is paid is how to improve performance with each passing match.

Potential of Ravichandran Ashwin, Gautam Gambhir, Ravindra Jadeja, Karun Nair, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Wriddhiman Saha, Ishant Sharma, Murali Vijay, Jayant Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Amit Mishra and Parthiv Patel was tested in different matches. A few who sat on bench did not get chance to be a part of Playing XI but tried to make their appearance noticeable by stopping singles and boundaries when appeared as substitutes. If talent of these cricketers in different games is kept in mind then it will be impossible to not notice how Jadeja and Ashwin surprised the majority with the magic of spin, which created difference whenever England tried to gain foothold. Pacers also did a good job. Good line and length was maintained by Ishant, Umesh, Jayant, Shami and Bhuvneshwar. Amit Mishra was impressive too.

In reality, everybody who was given opportunity to be a part of Indian squad against England in this season did not lack efficiency to be inspiring in more ways than one. Patel was brilliant too behind the stumps. He also showcased his batting skills. The way he batted on the pitch of Mohali, scoring 42 runs in first innings and 67 runs in second innings was a perfect example to show that marking a comeback is tough but not at that point of time when one has faith in his caliber and presents his natural play regardless of knowing the fact that the opponents are strong. England tour of India 2016 will be remembered for excellent batting by Virat Kohli and the young man Karun Nair. It wouldn’t be wrong to predict that Nair’s triple ton and fearless play will make selectors think of including him in the squad over players like Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma.

As far as England side is concerned then Alastair Cook, Moeen Ali, Zafar Ansari, Jake Ball, Jonny Bairstow, Gary Ballance, Gareth Batty, Stuart Broad, Jos Buttler, Steven Finn, Ben Duckett, Haseeb Hameed, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes, James Anderson, Keaton Jennings, Liam Dawson and Adil Rashid would have reached their country with a lesson that talent speaks louder than anything else. A few catches were dropped by them; the costliest among them proved to be of Karun Nair, who became the second Indian to reach this milestone after Virender Sehwag, who hit triple century twice in his career.

After the action in Test, One Day International matches are to catch the eyeballs again. Eoin Morgan will lead the England side, which will have Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Jake Ball, Sam Billings, Jos Buttler, Liam Dawson, Alex Hales, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, David Willey and Chris Woakes on the Indian turf.  At the same time, Indian team will expect to keep up the same winning momentum in 50-50 over games under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The ODI series is to begin from January 15, 2017. Crowd support at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune may be massive as the opening ODI is to take place on Sunday. As of now, all cricketers would like to enjoy some rest and regain energy to carry on being extraordinary in the upcoming matches as well.
